What is SurePlay?
SurePlay is a brand new revolutionary technology from RealNetworks that enables seamless auto-formatting of videos to fit the device type, size of screen, available bandwidth and storage space available on device. It is the foundational technology that enables the magic of RealPlayer Cloud.
SurePlay is available in the different tiers of RealPlayer Cloud as:

Why SurePlay?
iPads, iPhones, Roku's, Android phones/tablets typically only have the ability to play limited video formats. For example, if you move a mkv file to an iPad and expect it to just play, well, it won't. Additionally, very high bitrate files (HD resolution) won't play smoothly on these devices unless they are right-sized for the screen and for the network bandwidth. SurePlay takes care of these technical irregularities by creating and storing right-sized copies of your videos so that they are always available for instant playback on all your devices at any given time.

What is SurePlay Storage?
With SurePlay technology, uploaded videos are transcoded into multiple SurePlay profiles so that videos can instantly play on any device. These transcoded files are stored in secondary storage. This is SurePlay Storage. SurePlay Storage is not counted against the storage quota of the user.
What are SurePlay Streaming Profiles?
Uploaded files are transcoded into multiple pre-determined SurePlay Streaming profiles. Each profile is optimized for specific permutations of bandwidth, device storage and screen size scenarios. Eg. If you are playing a video on a smartphone on a 3G network, then the app will request a 500Kbps stream.
What are SurePlay Progressive Download Profiles?
Uploaded files are also transcoded in multiple progressive download profiles. These profiles are optimized for download-to-device scenarios where the user chooses to download videos to the PC or smartphone/tablet devices for offline access.
